Dark Horse Brewing Company was founded in 1997, in Marshall, MI. As one of Michigan's longest operating independent breweries, Dark Horse has become a name most craft beer drinkers in the state recognize. Not only here in Michigan, but all over the world!

THE BRANDS

ABV: 6.5% ABV

DESCRIPTION: Crooked Tree IPA is heavily dry hopped to give it a big aroma of pine and citrus. The flavors are big, yet very balanced between fresh hops and malt. Often described as “grapefruit,” our hops give this beer an excellent citrus flavor that finishes dry, crisp, and clean. Due to our unique dry-hopping methods it has won several medals in the India Pale Ale category.

CROOKED TREE IPA

ABV: 7% ABV

DESCRIPTION: A New England Style Hazy IPA or as we like to call it, “Great Lakes Juice.” Crooked Tree’s East Coast cousin is made with oats, wheat and double dry hopped for big citrus and tropical aromas. The flavor is juicy with a soft noticeable body. Appearance is an opaque yellow straw like color with a crisp, airy, and slightly bitter finish. Pairs well with smash burgers, kayak rides and stormy nights.

HAZY CROOKED TREE IPA

RASPBERRY ALE

ABV: 5% ABV

DESCRIPTION: This beer is a light bodied, easy drinking ale. We use real raspberries late in fermentation, giving this beer a mild fruit flavor while keeping a very balanced malt profile. This may not be what some would expect from a “fruit” beer, but our brewers make good beer; not fruity, carbonated malt beverages. Our motto is, “beer first, fruit second”.

ABV: 5% ABV

DESCRIPTION: Blueberry Ale is unapologetically easy to crush. It smacks your taste buds with an invigorating burst of fresh blueberry aroma. It’s beer first and fruit second, true to our brewing roots. Featuring a captivating golden hue and a frothy, inviting white head that beckons for another sip. Pairs well with grilled steaks, smoked chicken, and sweet potato fries.

BLUEBERRY ALE

ABV: 8.5% ABV

DESCRIPTION: S.L.A.S.M. is our most Aromatic IPA. This India Pale Ale is very reminiscent of the hop’s cousin in the Mulberry family. Lots of hop aroma with just the right amount of bitterness as we like to keep balance around here. Between the secret blend of the most DANK hops we can get our hands on and a “more than healthy” dose of double dry hopping, this beer can be announced to the nose from across the room that someone is definitely having a Safety Meeting.

SMELLS LIKE A SAFETY MEETING

ABV: 5.5% ABV

DESCRIPTION: Savor the rich copper hue and medium body of our Amber Ale, where malt and hops conspire to create a smooth mouthfeel. What distinguishes this beer is the yeast, drawing inspiration from the diverse and interesting flavors of Belgium - think beer, culture, and gastronomic pleasures. We've used a yeast strain that echoes the Belgian tradition, infusing the ale with subtle notes of light fruit and clove. These flavors linger just long enough at the end of each sip to entice you into taking another. It's an Amber Ale with a Belgian twist, brewed to captivate your palate with every taste.

AMBER ALE

ABV: 7% ABV

DESCRIPTION: ThIS beer is a favorite to many of us here at the brewery. Just as most of our beers it's on the "full body" scale pushing the envelope of what an American Brown Ale is to most people. The beer is a very deep/dark color of brown with a nice creamy tan head. The mouthfeel of the beer is very soft and is very drinkable. Flavors of malt, caramel, toffee, and a mild earthy nutty finish allow this beer to be paired with hearty food and sips of bourbon.

BOFFO BROWN ALE

ABV: 4% ABV

DESCRIPTION: Experience the unmistakable, sweet, and juicy essence of Sicilian lemon in this crisp, refreshing Pilsner. With its singular hop and malt profile and an enticing citrus aroma, this beer invites you to savor its clean finish, leaving you tempted to say, "Scusi, may I have another?"
